Move to a better CMS without starting over.

You know why you want to move off Webflow, WordPress, Wix or Squarespace. Getting there is another matter. We handle the content migration, front-end build, integrations, and redirects, then show your team how to run the new site.

Overview

For Rill, the problem was pricing. Every price point and feature line was baked into a static Webflow layout, so testing new packaging meant reworking a design. For Copytree, a technical writing agency whose clients include OpenAI and Google, it was a Wix site its founder had put together quickly so the company would look like a real business, with a backend finicky enough that updates sank to the bottom of the to-do list.

A new platform fixes problems like these, as long as your content, URLs and metadata come along too. The move is where the risk is: old URLs can stop working and take their search rankings with them, and posts can arrive garbled, or not at all.

Webflow to Astro + Sanity Migration

Codex pulled Rill’s pricing page, every blog post and every case study out of Webflow and into Astro and Sanity. Cloudflare page rules sent migrated URLs to the new site and everything else to Webflow, and Rill’s team finished the move on their own after launch.

Copytree

Next.js + Sanity Redesign & Migration

We scraped Copytree’s Wix site for its content and moved it to Next.js and Sanity, with a new design. The team traded a drag-and-drop builder for form-based editing with live previews, and now makes and previews changes in seconds.

What we migrate from

  • Webflow

When the site has outgrown page-by-page editing, or your team wants AI tools to work on it.

  • WordPress

Plugin sprawl, security and performance problems, or content that needs real structure. Staying on WordPress? See our WordPress work.

  • Squarespace, Wix, and other builders

The day-one site that got you here.

How a migration works

  1. Audit what you have

We list every page, URL, content type, form and integration, and check which pages actually earn traffic. That list shapes the plan, and later the redirect map.

  2. Model the content

Content stops living inside page layouts. Pricing, features, team bios and customer stories are entered once and show up wherever they’re needed, in a CMS (usually Sanity) set up around how your team publishes.

  3. Move the content

Scripts and AI agents pull pages, posts and assets out of your live site and into the new one. People check the results, so nothing gets lost or garbled.

  4. Protect your SEO

Redirect maps, metadata, and structured data carried over and checked before launch.

  5. Cut over at your pace

All at once, or one section at a time. Rules at your domain send pages that have already moved to the new site and everything else to the old one, until the old site is empty.

  6. Hand it over

Training, documentation, and an AGENTS.md and project skills for your coding agents, so your team can run the new site. After launch, your team takes over, or we stay on to help.

Frequently asked questions

Will we lose our search rankings?

We plan for search from the audit on. Every old URL gets a new home or a redirect, so search engines and visitors land in the right place, and titles, descriptions and structured data move with the content. We test the redirects before the switch.

Do we have to migrate everything at once?

No. We can move your most important pages first and leave the rest on your current platform until you’re ready. Either way, your team keeps publishing on the current site while our tooling moves the content.

How long does a migration take?

It depends on how many page templates you have, how consistently the old site used components, and how much bespoke design and animation has to come along. We scope it after an audit and agree on milestones before we start.

Can AI do the migration?

AI speeds up the repetitive parts: agents pull pages, posts and assets out of the old site and check them in the new one. People review every page before it goes live.

What do we migrate to?

Usually Sanity for the content system, with Astro or Next.js for the frontend. We’re a Sanity partner agency and an official Astro partner. Sometimes a simpler setup fits better, or the right call is to stay on WordPress and restructure it. Either way, we’ll tell you which we’d pick and why.

What happens to our forms and integrations?

They go on the audit list with everything else. We decide with you what moves, what gets replaced and what can go, then rebuild what stays. On a static Astro site, forms need a backend service, so if you already use HubSpot, its forms can send leads straight to your CRM. Interactive pieces can come along too: Rill’s pricing page moved off Webflow with its cost calculator.

Do we have to redesign at the same time?

No. The new site can follow your current design closely, or the move can come with a refresh. Rill’s came with a light brand refresh, but only the homepage and product overview got new copy and were built from scratch. The pricing page, blog posts and case studies came over from the old site.
